Paper Information
Using a paper sack to collect paper waste is the ultimate solution!
The paper is made from tree flakes and process waste from the timber industry. The trees are softwoods from Scandinavian forests (not hardwood from rain forests) originating from a fully approved FSC resource - a renewable resource which helps in the control of Greenhouse gases.
Trees absorb carbon dioxide and give off oxygen for the whole life of the tree, some 70 years. Younger trees absorb a lot more carbon dioxide and therefore help to lower the overall level of this Greenhouse gas. As the tree ages the amount of carbon dioxide absorbed decreases - when the tree has reached maturity it no longer requires so much carbon dioxide and therefore absorbs far less. Only trees that have reached a older age are sourced from the forest, making room for newly planted younger trees that can quickly grow and absorb far more carbon dioxide.
The harvesting of trees is carefully managed and controlled to ensure the natural growth of the forest. Trees also create a stable environment for the local flora and fauna by protecting against soil erosion, giving shade and preventing wind damage.
All the inks used are water based and all glues are potato starch - both the paper and sacks have been environmentally certified to give a truely natural solution. |
